Syona Tapis explores the deep emotional bond between humans and animals, particularly our dogs and cats.
In my artistic practice, I spin yarn from collected pet fur and weave it into unique textiles. This process makes the relationship tangible, raising questions about intimacy, memory, and material connection. Reactions to this concept are diverse—some find it unusual, some feel deeply resonated by it, while others are even repulsed.

As pets increasingly become cherished family members or even substitutes for children, their passing leaves us with a profound question: How can we honor their memory, and do we even need to? A woven textile can serve this very purpose—whether as a wearable piece, a tactile comfort object, or a framed artwork that enriches your living space.

I work on a commission basis, discussing each project individually to tailor every piece to your personal wishes. Each work is a unique tribute, preserving the bond between owner and pet in a meaningful and lasting way
