alles andere als rosa (anything other than pink) explores the fundamental human need for Geborgenheit—a German term that encompasses feelings of security, warmth, and well-being. Through experimental dyeing and weaving techniques, I sought to translate this feeling into unique textiles. The ability to experience Geborgenheit is crucial for managing stress and is often evoked through individual rituals or childhood memories. My personal connection to this sense of comfort is linked to the color pink, stemming from nostalgic summer holidays spent at my grandmother's house and her pink bathroom. Since the ability to evoke this sense of security is shaped from an early age, this preference for pink holds a special significance.
Furthermore, it is believed that pink has a calming effect on stressed individuals. My technical goal during this textile exploration was to develop a unique pink recipe for dyeing the weaving material. However, this proved to be a challenging task. The process resulted in unexpected colors, predominantly blue, yet the essence of pink remains palpable.
Even if pink is not visually apparent in the woven pieces, the concept of Geborgenheit remains present. This project follows an open-ended research strategy, allowing for continuous exploration and discovery. Through my textiles, I strive to evoke a sense of comfort and well-being, even when the color pink is not directly visible.
