reduce material waste 2014

Sheer tights, delicate garments prone to runners are transformed into woven fabrics together with other materials. In this way, textile designs are created, including robust and elegant double weave, tubular weave and simple weave, suitable for fashion and product design. Upon closer inspection, the presence of sheer tights in the fabrics surprises and delights. The goal is to reduce textile waste before and after consumption through intelligent transformation. The see-through tights used in the project come from a fruitful collaboration with Kleiderkammer Wilhelmsburg, a clothing bank in Hamburg. This project was awarded the Bavarian State Prize for Young Designers in 2014.
